What we provide

Complete sump pumps repairs
& installations.

The licensed company handles the trade work and the drywall, trim, or paint around it, on one written scope.

Why one company

One written scope for the whole sump pumps job.

Most sump pumps calls start with one symptom and end up touching the wall, the ceiling, or the floor around it. We quote that work as lines on one estimate, so the drywall and paint are not a separate company.

diagnosis
What fails on the Jersey Shore

Common sump pumps problems we solve.

Field diagnosis 01

Pump runs nonstop

The check valve failed or the pit is taking groundwater faster than the pump can leave. We test both.

Field diagnosis 02

Discharge dumping next to the foundation

That water comes back. We extend it to daylight, away from the wall.

Field diagnosis 03

No pump at all

Brick, Bayville, and parts of Ocean Township should not wait for the first finished-basement flood to cut a pit.

FAQ

Sump Pumps questions & answers

Don't see your question? Call (732) 333-7800 — a real tradesperson answers 24/7.

How often should a sump pump be replaced?

We see primaries fail between 5 and 10 years, sooner if they run all spring. If you cannot remember the last test, call before a nor'easter.

Do you install battery backups?

Yes. The storms that fill the pit are the storms that take the power out.

Can you stop a wet basement without a full waterproofing system?

Sometimes a pump, a longer discharge, and a grading fix are the whole job. We do not sell a system you do not need.

Will you service a pump we did not install?

Yes. We test the float, the valve, and the discharge, then replace only what failed.

Why does a pump run all night in the spring?

Either the check valve is stuck open and the water falls back into the pit, or the pit is taking groundwater faster than the pump can leave. We test both before we sell a bigger pump.

Where should the discharge go?

To daylight, far enough from the foundation that it does not re-enter the footer drain. A pipe that ends at the corner of the house is a loop, not a fix.

Do you add a battery backup?

On houses in Brick, Bayville, and the bay sections of Middletown, yes, if you want the pit to keep working when the storm takes the power.

How do you test a pump that 'seems fine'?

We pour water until the float lifts, watch the discharge, and listen for the check valve to seat. A pump that has not run since last March is not fine.

Can a French drain replace a pump?

Sometimes the water is surface water against the wall and a drain to daylight is the whole job. Sometimes you need both. We do not sell the system that does not match the water.

What fails on a discharge line in January?

The above-grade section freezes and the pump dead-heads. We pitch that section and insulate it where it leaves a cold bulkhead.
