Drain Snake and Cleanout, on one written scope.
Kitchen, bath, laundry, and floor drains cabled from a cleanout or the trap, without tearing into walls first.

What’s included on a drain snake and cleanout visit.
We inspect the cause, check what else it touched, and leave a written scope with materials and timing. The visit is free and there is no obligation to book the work.
What to know before the visit.
Have ready
Stop running water at the fixture that backs up and at anything upstream of it, and clear the floor around the cleanout or trap so the cable has room to feed. Tell the technician which fixtures gurgle, which drain first, and whether more than one is slow, because that points to the branch or the main. The first three checks are the cleanout cap condition, the trap arm and vent, and whether the backup is in a fixture branch or the building drain.
- Locate the cleanout
- Cable to the blockage
- Camera when the cable stops short
- Restore the cleanout cap
The visit
A drain snake and cleanout visit starts by naming the failure, not by selling the fix. We check what the problem touched, protect the floors and the rooms below, and leave a written scope. The work is done in one sequence by the same company, so the trade that caused the damage is the trade that closes it.
What fails first on the Shore is what we look at: salt-rotted fasteners, water finding the soft spot, and the 'quick fix' that never dealt with the cause. For drain snake and cleanout, the tell is usually visible on the first visit, and we say what it means in plain English.
Permit
Cabling a drain is maintenance and normally needs no permit. A permit usually becomes part of the job only when the line itself is replaced or repaired, when a new cleanout is cut into the building drain, or when the blockage is a collapsed pipe that has to be dug and rebuilt. That repair is permitted and inspected. Rules vary across Monmouth and Ocean County, so the scope is confirmed with the town and explained to you before anything is dug or opened.
On the Shore
Shore drain lines take a beating from sand, grit, and roots working into older joints, and from the seasonal water table pushing groundwater through cracks. Cast iron and galvanized steel in these homes scale and pit from the inside, so the pipe closes down before it ever clogs solid. That is why cabling here is often paired with a camera pass to see what the cable actually cleared.
When we leave
Once the line is open, the technician runs hot water at every fixture on that branch and watches each drain for a full, fast drop. The cleanout cap goes back on and is checked for a tight seal so sewer gas stays out, and the floor is left dry. If a camera was used, the footage is shown to you and the condition of the pipe is described plainly.
Built with
Cabling uses a sectional or drum machine with the right head for the blockage: a drop head or boring head for grease and sludge, and a root cutter where tree roots have entered a joint. A camera with a locating sonde is used when the cable stops short. A new cleanout gets a PVC or cast iron body with a threaded brass or plastic plug, and a rubber test plug is used when the line is opened.
How soon can we book this?
Call and we usually get an on-site look scheduled within a day or two, sooner for anything active. Drain Snake and Cleanout is booked from the same Ocean Township base.
Do you work weekends?
Yes. Saturday appointments are normal, and emergency repairs are answered 24/7.
Is this licensed work?
Licensed and insured, NJ HIC #13VH09886800. Where the town requires a permit, we pull it.
What if the job turns out bigger?
We stop and show you before we go any further, then quote the additional scope separately.
Will you clean up?
Floor protection, dust control, and haul-away are part of the visit, not an add-on.
Will the cable damage my pipes?
A properly sized cable with the right head clears the blockage without cutting into sound pipe. If the line is already cracked or scaled thin, the cable can find that, which is exactly why a camera pass is offered when the cable stops short.
Why does the drain keep clogging in the same spot?
A repeat clog usually means the pipe is narrowed by scale, grease buildup, or a root mass, not just a one-time blockage. Clearing it again restores flow but does not change the pipe, so the camera pass shows what is actually happening.
Do you need to open a wall?
Not for cabling. The line is worked through an existing cleanout, a fixture trap, or a roof vent. A wall only comes open if the cleanout is missing or a camera pass shows a break that has to be repaired.
Can I use the drains right after?
Yes, with normal use. Run water at each fixture once and watch it go. Keep grease, wipes, and heavy paper out of the line, since those are what rebuild the same blockage over time.
